Prospekt are a British Progressive Metal band gaining a solid reputation throughout their hometown Oxford and the surrounding areas for creating a fresh and intelligent approach to ‘Prog’.Taking influence from such as Dream Theater,Symohony X and Opeth, Prospekt combine the technicality of progressive metal with the symphonic elements of contemporary Prog.
Formed in 2008 by guitarist Lee Luland and drummer Blake Richardson, Prospekt began as an experimental project, with the main focus on complex instrumentation. They forged a sound that would epitomise Prospekt’s music, technical and yet progressive.
With the addition of bassist Phol Wicker and vocalist Matt Winchester (at the end of 2009) Prospekt began writing material for their first EP.
After composing four tracks of modern progressive metal. The band recorded at their own home studio during summer 2010 with the addition of newest member Richard Marshall on Keyboards.
By delicately combining brutal riffs, coupled with odd time-signatures, passionate higher ranged vocals, frenetic guitqr work and solid grooves, each Prospekt composition remains both interesting and original.
Prospekt are now preparing for their first full length album. With five new songs already in the pipeline, the goal is to complete the album at the end of 2011.
Without hesitation I dare to say this should be signed immediately. A wonderfull debut mini-Album.
It’s a freight train running over you. The mixed Vocals/Grunts is a superb hibryd betweenTechnical Metal and Progressive Symphonical rock. Stunning rhythm section with screaming Guitar extravaganza.
The dream theater comparison is selling them too short. The music stands out on its own.
Favorite numbers are all of them but shroud takes the lead.
I’m Looking forward to the follow-up album.
Untill then everyone should listen and appriciate this Metal/Prog Combo called Prospekt.

A common passion, inspiration and way of seeing the world led, in June 2008, two friends – guitarist Janek Niedzielski and vocalist Filip Zielinski – to join forces on a project called Dianoya.
Before long they assembled a full band: longtime friend and drummer Lukasz Chmielinski; bassist Adam Pierzchala; and at the end of the year guitarist Maciej Papalski.
Determination and hard work enabled them to succeed in recording, registering and releasing the band’s ambitious debut material on the album “Obscurity Divine”.
Poland is becoming known as a provider of good solid progressive rock. And Dianoya are a good example of top quality with wonderful melodies all played with great skill and feeling.
You can add Dianoya to the list of Polish bands including Riverside, SBB, Quidam, Satellite and many more.
The Riverside comparisons is of course obvious but that isn’t necessary a negative fact.
The music is moody, haunting and dark, filled with edgy atmospheres and complex musical passages

Enter Abigail’s Ghost, a progressive art-rock group from New Orleans, Louisiana.
Nothing ethereal here:the combination of emotional, innovative song structures, seamless transitions, atmospheric and vicious layers of instrumentation, vocal harmonies and well-written lyrics, come together to form a breathtaking musical presence that reaffirms itself with each listen.
Maintaining a predominantly heavy progressive rock and metal sound throughout, they draw from a wealth of influences that range from Pink Floyd, Steve Vai, Ozric Tentacles, Dream Theatre, OSI, Supertramp and Opeth.
Abigail’s Ghost’s music has a tendency to sound like one group in particular. In this case, the indefinable Porcupine Tree.
On D_letion they’ve found their own sound by stepping up the energy levels and metal-influence of the heavier songs and emphasizing a strong morose atmosphere that’s carried by clean guitars and subtle keyboards on the mellow tracks.
Abigail’s Ghost’s debut album displayed a band with a lot of, there are still moments where a certain sound or piece of a riff will instantly remind of a Porcupine Tree song but those moments are much fewer.
Instead, a majority of the album is made up of excellent heavier sections and even better atmospheric songs. This album is definitely something fans of that band could enjoy.
This is a great second album and the future looks bright for Abigail’s Ghost.
From the title track “d_letion” till the ending track “grave concerns”. This bands delivers the goods and it’s a progressive joyride from start to finish.

Roswell Six Internationally bestselling author Kevin J. Anderson has created an incredible fantasy universe with sailing ships, sea monsters, and the crusades. Anderson’s works have always been heavily influenced by music, especially progressive rock — but TERRA INCOGNITA truly takes this into new territory.
In a groundbreaking crossover project, Anderson developed and expanded one of the novel’s storylines to form the basis of an epic rock CD under the band name “Roswell Six.” Anderson and his wife, bestselling author Rebecca Moesta, wrote all the lyrics to the songs.
Accomplished keyboardist Erik Norlander, well known for his band ROCKET SCIENTISTS as well as his solo CDs, came aboard at the beginning of the project to write the music and to helm the production chores.
His wife Lana Lane, the “Queen of Symphonic Rock,” provides the female lead vocals, male vocals are by James Labrie (DREAM THEATER), Michael Sadler (SAGA), and John Payne (ex-ASIA).
Among the accomplished musicians contributing their talents to the project are David Ragsdale (KANSAS), Gary Wehrkamp (SHADOW GALLERY), Chris Quirarte (PRYMARY) and Chris Brown (GHOST CIRCUS). Together, the creative team has sold over 40 million copies worldwide.
TERRA INCOGNITA is a synergistic project unlike anything ever seen in the publishing and music business an original novel and original CD from the same author. He has created an incredible fantasy universe with sailing ships, sea monsters, a clash of religions and a love that will reach to the edge of the world.
The Cd has 13 tracks and a booklet with original connecting prose by Kevin J. Anderson. This will appeal to the huge crossover audience of SF/Fantasy fans and devotees of Progressive Rock.
“After the sacred city of Ishalem burns tot the ground, a holy war breaks out between the world’s two major religions. But this is also a time of exploration and discovery. The young sailor Criston Vora (Michael Sadler) feels the call of the sea and signs aboard the Luminara, a sailing ship that will explotre beyond the horizon. After listening to, Captain Shay (John Payne) tell glorious stories about the wonders of the world, he says goodbye to, his wife Adrea (Lana Lane), promising to return home. Meanwhile, Soldan-Shah Omr (James labrie) follows the drive for vengeance demanded of his faith and raids ‘enemy’ villages. He captures Adrea, taking her away with him……While Chrsiton himself survives sea monster attacks and the sinking of the Luminara. The two lovers, swept apart, must cling to their love and try to finf each other.
Each of the 13 tracks, including two major instrumentals, stand alone; they are snapshots of the epic story, with connective prose. This Project—Novel and CD written by the same autor—is a unique musical experience. Read the Novel, Listen tot the Music.
One thing comes in mind and one thing ONLY- H.G. Wells – Jeff Wayne’s “War of the Worlds”.
This is a magnificiant Record/Book Nuff said.
You Should all get your hands on a copy and be amazed.

Anthropia is a metal band based at Nice (France),
created in 2003.
The First album called”The Ereyn Chronicles Part One” and back then
Anthropia was a pure solo project created by Hugues Lefebvre.
Nowadays Anthropia is a real band with it’s latest release “the chain reaction”.
It follows the musical direction of the first opus with a good mix between
Progressive, Melodic and Power Metal.
The Environment is this time eleven contemporary pieces of SCI-FI/BIBLICAL elements:
We meet a soul who is fed up with always doing nicely what he is told.
In his next life, he will do exactly what he wants.
Unfortunately this behaviour and the tragic loss of his soul mate will lead
to an unexpected outcome:THE END OF ALL MANKIND!!!
Hugues composed this album nearly entirely again (music & lyrics),
but Natalie, Yann, Julien and Damien definately bring their own touch
and interpretation, that allows THE CHAIN REACTION to be a suprising gem of an album.
Full peddle to the METAL.The whole sound of the album is
a sweet mix of heavy songs and melodic ones with dripping
layers of progressive rhytms.
Heavy guitar solos and beautiful acoustic guitar parts.
Great solo and harmony vocals, pounding drums and atmospheric piano pieces.
The Chain Reaction has been recorded in Nice at Artmusic Studio
and mixed by François Merle (guitarist of “Magnigance”).
The Keyboardist of “Adagio” also makes a guest appearance
on the album. Mastering is done by Tommy Hansen (“Helloween”)

Nosound was started as a one man studio-project in late 2002 by Giancarlo Erra. But has since become a band in studio and live performances.
Influences go from Pink Floyd to Brian Eno, from Porcupine Tree to Sigur Ros, passing through Rock, Electronic/Ambient and PostRock.
Official debut (SOL29) was released in 2005 and in 2006 followed by a live DVD (the world is outside) containing also unreleashed material.
A new live was issued in the first half of 2007 (slow it goes). Anticipating the new album they releashed an exclusive EP (clouds), containing three outtakes from the new album recording sessions.
Three years on from debut album SOL29, Nosound returns with their highly anticipated second album “LIGHTDARK”
Recorded in Italy,England and the US throughout 2006 and 2007, the album develops further the promise of their debut album SOL29. Lightdark sees the NOSOUND identity evolve into something even more focused and powerful. Combining influences from 70’s Psychedelica and 80’s/90’s Ambient and Alternative Progressive Rock.
Highlights include the 15 minute epic “From Silence to Noise, the ethereal “The Misplay”( with cellist Marianne DeChastelaine ), and the epic piana/mellotron driven ballad “Someone starts to fade Away” (wich features NO-MAN’s Tim Bowness on Vocals.
My favorite tracks are
1. From Silence to Noise
2. The Misplay
3. Someone Starts to Fade Away
In one word this is a Magical Release.
